  • Homemade Veggie Beef Soup Recipe | Learn To Bake and Cook | Epicurean Delights

How to create a hearty soup filled with end-of-summer and beginning-of-fall veggies! Veggie beef soup My grandma’s homemade soup started with hamburger and was filled out with fresh vegetables from her garden. She would add beef bouillon to enhance the broth, a couple cloves of garlic, and a store bought rutabaga or turnip (one of the few veggies she didn’t grow). My mom's soup has evolved even more from my grandmother’s recipe. There is one thing we agree with: There is nothing that warms the soul more than a hearty soup filled with end-of-summer and beginning-of-fall veggies. Download Recipe Card Shop/Buy Project Supplies Ask Questions/Forum How to make Vegetable Beef Soup What you are creating: A warm and inviting bowl of vegetable beef soup that will warm you up on a cold day. Ingredients: 1-2 pounds quality beef Avocado oil 1 cup water 2 - 32 ounce containers of beef stock 1 large sweet yellow onion 3 stalks of celery 6 medium sized garlic cloves, minced 1/3 cup barley Parsnips Carrots Zucchini Potatoes Green beans Frozen peas Directions: Cut beef into bite size pieces and sear in avocado oil. Once the beef is seared to a nice brown, remove it and place it in an oversized crock pot and turn on high. Add about a cup of water to the fond and scrub until all those flavorful bits have relinquished their hold to the bottom of the pan. Place the fond directly into the crock pot, along with the beef stock. Cut up the sweet onion and celery and mince six medium size garlic cloves. Caramelize the veggies in avocado oil. Ladle some of the broth from the crock pot into the pan. Add 1/3 cup barley to the crock pot. Continue cooking on high for about 45 minutes. Slice the carrots and cut potatoes into bite size pieces and place in the crock pot. Slice all the rest of the veggies into sticks and spray with avocado oil and roast in the oven. About 15-20 minutes before serving, add frozen peas and green beans to crock pot. This will ensure the do not get mushy. Add the roasted veggies and heat through. Serve with homemade bread and enjoy! Makes approximately 8 servings. Related Projects:

Beer can chicken adds flavor through out the chicken and is great anytime of the year. Recipe Ingredients: 1/4 cup kosher salt 1/4 cup dark brown sugar 1/4 cup sweet paprika 2 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper 2 teaspoons vegetable oil 1 (3 to 4 pound) whole chicken, patted dry 1 can (12 or 16 ounces) good quality beer Fresh herbs of your choice for placing in the beer can Recipe Directions: Preheat a gas grill to medium or prepare a charcoal grill. To prepare rub: To a small bowl, add salt, brown sugar, paprika, and pepper, and whisk to fully incorporate. To prepare chicken: Rotate and tuck the chicken’s wingtips back. Using a silicone brush, coat chicken with a thin layer of oil and coat with 2 tablespoons barbecue rub, ensuring skin and cavity are fully covered. Open can of beer, and pour out half, leaving remaining half in can. You will need to make the opening of the can larger or piece the top several times to allow more steam to escape during cooking. Add 2 tablespoons barbecue rub to beer in can and place all fresh herbs in can as well. To a roasting pan place can in center, and place chicken upright on top of can, so it sits upright in chicken’s cavity. To cook chicken: Place chicken on grill grates, and cover. Cook chicken, until skin is well browned, about 30 to 35 minutes. Use pan drippings to baste chicken every so often. Cook until an instant-read thermometer inserted into thickest part of thigh reads 165°F degrees, about 1 and 1/2 hours total. If skin begins to brown before chicken is thoroughly cooked, tent loosely with aluminum foil. When done remove chicken from grill or oven and allow to rest covered loosely with aluminum foil, 15 to 20 minutes. Carefully remove chicken from can and place it on a cutting board. Cut chicken up as you'd like and serve . • Intro to Cakes: Icing Roses | Learn To Bake and Cook | Epicurean Delights

How to create icing roses. How to make The Rose The rose. Oh the rose. The flower that challenges us all! Roses are such a great addition to your floral designs. Let's take a look. This cake looks like the beginning colors of spring. Roses were added along with large apple blossoms as a wreath around the cake. Simple leaves were piped to finish off the floral motif. Here's a fun, wacky design by Bryson that's full of color. Its almost reminds me of some of the colors that you'd find in a delos de muertos cake. Here rosettes, stars and cupcake swirls are used along with roses to finish off the cake border with leaves and lots to sprinkles! Here's a floral spray design featuring roses. I really like the floral spray, however I feel that the writing isn't proportional to the spray. If the designer had made their spray smaller they would have had more white space which would balance out the use of typography in this design. I do love the floral spray. I always use groups of three in my design, odd numbers are always better than even numbers in cake design. This design also contains curving lines using a number 2 or 3 tip, leaves a filler dots in varing sizes to create little buds on the branches.
