Play with the spirits and garnish for a different twist. Recipe Ingredients: 1 cube of sugar 2 dashes of orange bitters 1 teaspoon water 2 ounces rye whiskey, whiskey or bourbon Orange peel and cocktail cherry for garnish Recipe Directions: To an old fashioned glass, add sugar cube, bitters and water. Muddle until sugar is dissolved. Fill glass halfway with ice. Add whiskey or bourbon, using a cocktail spoon, gently stir to combine. To garnish pierce through orange peel with a toothpick, then through a cocktail cherry and rest toothpick on the rim of the glass and enjoy. Quick and easy, our braised Italian sausage will make your guests think you spent all day in the kitchen. Recipe Ingredients: 6 links Italian sausage 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 cups strained tomatoes 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar 1 tablespoon dried basil 1 teaspoon kosher salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Recipe Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Rub the sausage with olive oil and place on a rimmed baking sheet. Roast the sausage until nicely browned, about 25 minutes. Turn oven down to 325 degrees. In an oven safe braising dish, mix the strained tomatoes, vinegar, basil, salt and pepper. Heat the tomato mixture on the stove top over medium heat until it comes to a boil. Turn off the heat, add the roasted sausage to the tomato braising liquid, cover and return to the oven. Allow to braise in the oven for 1 hour. Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes. Enjoy! Pasta e fagioli, means "pasta and beans" and is a traditional Italian soup. Like many Italian favorites, this delicious soup started as a peasant dish, because it was made primarily with inexpensive ingredients. Recipe Ingredients: 1 cup Ditalini pasta 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided 1 pound spicy Italian sausage, casing removed 5 garlic cloves, minced 1 sweet yellow onion, diced 3 carrots, peeled and diced 2 stalks celery, diced 3 cups chicken broth 1 16 ounce can tomato sauce 1 16 ounce can diced tomatoes 1 tablespoon fresh basil, minced 3/4 teaspoon dried thyme Salt and pepper to taste 1 16 ounce can red kidney beans 1 16 ounce can white navy or Cannellini beans Recipe Directions: Cook pasta according to package directions. Rinse with cold water and drain well. Set aside. Heat 1 tablespoon of the olive oil in a large pot and add the Italian sausage. Cook sausage until browned. Crumble as it cooks. Drain off all excess fat and remove from pot. Add remaining 1 tablespoon oil to the pot and stir in garlic, onion, carrots and celery. Cook until tender. Stir in chicken broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, spices, Italian sausage and 1 cup water. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Bring to boil and reduce heat and simmer until veggies are tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and rinse the canned beans. Stir the pasta and beans into the pot and heat through. Serve hot with fresh bread sticks or Italian bread. We bring garlic, lemon and butter together for the baste. The final step before the chicken is complete, we broil it for a delicious crust. Recipe Ingredients: 4-6 pound whole chicken, (remove giblets and neck from cavity!) 1/4 cup butter, melted 3 tablespoons avocado or olive oil 1/4 cup white wine 1 lemon, halved Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste 4 garlic cloves, minced Recipe Directions: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking tray with foil, or lightly grease a roasting pan. Discard neck from inside the cavity and remove any excess fat. Pat dry with a paper towel. Pour the avocado or olive oil, melted butter, wine (if using) and the juice of half the lemon under the skin, inside the cavity and on top of the chicken. Season chicken liberally on the outside and inside the cavity with salt and pepper. Sprinkle over the parsley. Rub the minced garlic over the chicken and under the skin. Tie the legs together with kitchen string. Place breast-side down into a baking tray or roasting pan. Roast for 1 hour. Turn the chicken breast side up and return to oven. Bake and baste often, until juices run clear when chicken thigh is pierced with a skewer. Baste again and then broil for 2-3 minutes or until golden. Remove from the oven, cover with foil and let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Place chicken on serving dish and drizzle with pan juices. Cut the remaining lemon half into wedges or slices and use as garnish. I usually make a 9 inch pie, however, my son loves the individual pies the best because he's such a fan of the crust. Use store bought crust to save some time! Recipe Ingredients: Turkey stock 2 cups cooked turkey meat 2 tablespoons flour for each cup of stock 2 tablespoons butter for each cup of stock 1 pound bag of baby carrots 1/2 bag frozen peas Pie crust for a double crust pie (store bought our use one of our delicious pie crust recipes !) Recipe Directions: Line a 9 inch pie dish with one crust. Par bake the crust in the oven for 10 mins at 375 degrees. You can use pie weights to weigh the dough down or dock it with a fork. Once par baked, remove and set aside. Par boil the baby carrots, drain, rinse with cold water and set aside. In a large sauce pan melt butter and use a whisk or wooden spoon to incorporate the flour, stirring constantly until it bubbles. Gradually add in the stock until its the consistency of gravy. Add a half bag of frozen peas and the cooked carrots to the mixture. You can be creative with your veggies! Try adding potato cubes, frozen corn or broccoli florets. Next add the turkey to the stock gravy. Pour into the par baked pie crust. Top with remaining pie crust. Bake at 375 degrees until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Variations: If you're cooking for a large group of people, place the turkey filling in a 9x13 pan. Recipe Ingredients: 1 cup sugar (more for coating doughnuts) 4 teaspoons baking powder 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon Saigon cinnamon (more for coating doughnuts) 2 eggs 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted 7 ounces of milk 1 ounce apple cider vinegar 1 tsp LorAnn Vanilla Bean Paste 1 chopped Granny Smith apple 4 cups flour (plus more if dough is sticky) Recipe Directions: Whisk together milk, sugar and vinegar. Once combined add eggs and whisk. In separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Slowly combine with your wet ingredients. Once combined, fold in your chopped apples. Roll dough out and use a biscuit cutter to cut out circles. Using a smaller biscuit cutter, cut out center to create a ring. Save centers to fry up as doughnut holes! Fry doughnuts in oil until golden brown. Move to a rack to drain excess oil. While still hot, toss in a bowl of cinnamon and sugar. Tip: For added deliciousness, try melting some Peter's Caramel and drizzling over the top of the doughnuts.
