  • Easter Egg Cookies

ALL RECIPES BAKING RECIPES CANDY RECIPES COCKTAIL RECIPES COOKING RECIPES Create Account Questions Recipes Video Classes Zoom Classes Easter Egg Cookies 5 mins 3-6 Recipe you are creating: Easter Egg Cookies In this lesson, you’ll learn how to decorate Easter Egg Cookies using stencils, edible dust, and piping gel for a fast, easy design that looks detailed without a lot of effort. You’ll use vodka to dilute edible dusts—like gold diamond, Ilana pearl, and Blue Lala—and apply them with a cosmetic sponge to create soft, layered color on royal icing. We cover tips for getting clean edges, avoiding color bleed, and rehydrating your paint later. Then we take it up a notch with edible gelatin flakes and sanding sugar, using piping gel as the glue. You’ll see how to press and layer each color to build a sparkly design that stays put. We wrap this one up with a full spring cookie set, including bunnies, florals, and butterflies. You’ll get a quick look at techniques like outlining, flooding, overpiping, and using royal icing transfers. Perfect for beginners who want to get creative with texture and color. Recipe Ingredients: • Royal iced cookies (egg-shaped) • Edible dusts (gold diamond, Ilana pearl, Blue Lala) • Vodka (or clear extract) • Cosmetic sponge or brush (food-safe) • Piping gel • Gelatin flakes (edible) • Sanding sugar (optional) Recipe Directions: Mix each edible dust with a bit of vodka until you get a paintable texture. Use a clean cosmetic sponge or brush to apply color through a stencil. Blot gently and avoid overlapping colors to keep lines clean. Once dry, apply piping gel through a stencil where you want flakes to stick. Quickly layer gelatin flakes and sanding sugar. Press gently. Tap off excess. Clean edges with a dry brush. Done.
