The final step before the chicken is complete, we broil it for a delicious crust. Download Recipe Card Shop/Buy Project Supplies Ask Questions/Forum How to make Oven Roasted Chicken What you are creating: A tender roasted chicken with a delicious glaze. Ingredients: 4-6 pound whole chicken, (remove giblets and neck from cavity!) 1/4 cup butter, melted 3 tablespoons avocado or olive oil 1/4 cup white wine 1 lemon, halved Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste 4 garlic cloves, minced Directions Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking tray with foil, or lightly grease a roasting pan. Discard neck from inside the cavity and remove any excess fat. Pat dry with a paper towel. Pour the avocado or olive oil, melted butter, wine (if using) and the juice of half the lemon under the skin, inside the cavity and on top of the chicken. Season chicken liberally on the outside and inside the cavity with salt and pepper. Sprinkle over the parsley. Rub the minced garlic over the chicken and under the skin. Tie the legs together with kitchen string. Place breast-side down into a baking tray or roasting pan. Roast for 1 hour. Turn the chicken breast side up and return to oven. Bake and baste often, until juices run clear when chicken thigh is pierced with a skewer. Baste again and then broil for 2-3 minutes or until golden. Remove from the oven, cover with foil and let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Place chicken on serving dish and drizzle with pan juices. Cut the remaining lemon half into wedges or slices and use as garnish. Makes approximately 6 servings. Add a tasty side dish!

Ingredients: Granny Smith apples Peter's Caramel Chocolate Chopped peanuts Apple sticks Piping bag Directions: Melt the caramel in a double boiler over water. Once the caramel is smooth, dip the apples. Let them cool a bit, then roll in nuts. Spin a layer of melted chocolate over each apple, using a piping bag filled with the chocolate. Makes Approximately 6 caramel apples. Variations: Use colorful sprinkles instead of nuts. Use chopped Pistachio or almonds instead of the peanuts. Use colored candy melts for the spun chocolate. It doesn't spread and is ideal for all your cookie projects! Ingredients: 2 cups unsalted butter 2 cups bakers sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 teaspoons Lemon Extract (LorAnn Bakery Emulsions) 5 1⁄2 to 6 cups all purpose flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt Directions: In a 5qt mixer or a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs, mix. Add vanilla and Lemon extract, mix. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and salt together. Gradually add to the butter mixture until incorporated. TIP: For 3D cookies it is best to hold back a bit on the flour (5 1⁄4 or 5 1⁄2 cups). Scrape bowl and mix until dough comes together. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Roll out cookies on parchment paper, cut shapes leaving space between the cookies, then place the parchment paper with the cookies onto a cookie sheet. Bake cookies at 350 degrees in a regular oven or 300-325 degrees in a convection oven until golden brown around the edges. Makes approximately 3 dozen 5" cookies. Variations: For flavor variations add any of the LorAnn Bakery Emulsions.

The Monte Cristo What you are making: Learn to create a delicious Monte Cristo sandwich using homemade waffles. Waffle Recipe: 3 Eggs 1 1/2 Cups Buttermilk 1 tsp Baking Soda 1 3/4 Cups AP Flour 2 tsp Baking Powder 1/2 tsp Salt 1/2 Cup Melted Butter 1 tsp Vanilla Bean Paste Sandwich Recipe: 1 Block Gruyere Cheese 1 Pound Black Forest Ham Dusting Powdered Sugar Dipping Sauce Recipe: 1 Pound Strawberries 1/4 Cup Sugar Half of a Lemon-Juiced Directions: Waffles: Combine all ingredients and using a waffle maker, make your waffles. Place in oven to keep warm. Sandwich: Using waffles build your sandwich. First put down a layer of cheese then ham and then another layer of cheese and top with waffle. Make an egg batter using 2-4 Eggs and a good splash of milk. Combine with a fork or whisk and then dip your sandwiches in the egg batter. Place sandwich in pan and cook like you would French toast. You can also place sandwiches in the oven for a few minutes if you find the cheese isn't melted all the way through. Sauce: Place strawberries, sugar and lemon juice in a saucepan. Cook down.
