Caramel Stuffed French Toast

What you are creating

Stuff cinnamon French toast with caramel sauce and top with powdered sugar for a decadent brunch dish.

Directions:

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.  

  2. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg.  

  3. Dip each slice of bread in the egg mixture and let it soak for a few seconds.  

  4. Place the slices of bread in the preheated skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.  

  5. Remove the slices of bread from the skillet and spread a thin layer of butter on each side.  

  6. Place 1 tablespoon of caramel sauce in the center of each slice of bread and fold over to close.  

  7. Place the stuffed French toast back in the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until lightly browned.  

  8. Drizzle each slice with the remaining caramel sauce and maple syrup. 

Ingredients
  • 4 slices of thick white bread

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 cup of milk

  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg

  • 2 tablespoons of butter

  • 1/4 cup of caramel sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
