Easy Easter Bunny Cake

What you are creating

This popular production bakery bunny cake has been broken down for you! This cake is easy because it only use one eight inch round cake, and a 1M Wilton star tip. We've added some fun wafer paper ears and isomalt eyes, dyed some coconut green for grass and scattered some edible candy eggs for a fun touch.

Directions:

Supplies:

  • (1) 8" round cakes flavor of your choice

  • 6 cups of the buttercream of your choice

  • 1M cake decorating tip

  • 1/2 bag of flaked coconut colored green

  • Candy melts for whiskers, mouth, nose and tail

  • Pink gel coloring

  • Green gel coloring

  • Wafer paper

  • 8" or 9" cake board round

  • Cake Play isomalt, silicone eye ball mold and eyes printed on a frosting sheet

  • Speckled candy eggs of your choice


Baking:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Coat the inside of the cake pans with cooking spray or butter. Dust with flour. 

  3. Mix the cake mix according to the directions on the box.

  4. Bake according to the directions on the cake mix.

To create a delightful Easter Bunny cake, here's a step-by-step guide to assemble your Easter Bunny cake:

  1. Cut the 8" round cake in half.

  2. Place frosting between the two halves and place upright as seen in video.

  3. Use pink frosting to make the bunny's body using a 1M Wilton tip and make large rosettes.

  4. Use isomalt as instructed in the video to make the bunnies eyes.

  5. Use wafer paper a pink petal dust with skewers to create the bunnies ears.

  6. Add green dyed coconut around the bunny to create grass.

  7. Place jelly beans and other colorful sprinkles and candies such as malted milk ball easter eggs, for decoration.

  • 1 cake mix

  • 2 eggs

  • Oil or butter (following box instruction)

  • Cooking spray or butter to coat pan

  • Buttercream Icing
