The peony has existed in human folklore for thousands of years. In China, it represents riches, honor and high social status. In the West, the peony symbolizes boldness.

You will be creating this beautiful flower with wafer paper in this project.

Pre-Prep: You will want to use the dies listed under supplies needed and cut them out ahead of time in wafer paper of your choice. You can use plain white wafer and use the dusts to color it or one of the many patterned or colored options found in our online shop.
Supplies Needed:
You can purchase these products online. There are many scrapbook machines on the market. If you're an avid scrapbooker, you can use the machine you already own.

Creating the Peony
Step 1If you live in a climate that dries out your wafer paper use a little bit of piping gel to condition it prior to shaping. | Step 2Shape the petals and give them movement by rolling them slightly on the back of a paint brush. | Step 3Add color dust in the center of your flower. |

Step 4Next outline the petals with color. | Step 5Add a pearl dust to the middle of the petals. | Step 6Create a disc out of modeling chocolate or fondant and add piping gel glue. |
Step 7Start with your largest petals. | Step 8Add gel glue between layers. | Step 9Layer until you have your last petal. |
Step 10Twist your last petal together to create a center out of it. | Step 11Attach with gel glue and your done! |
