Low sugar balsamic glaze

Balsamic glaze adds intense flavor to grilled vegetables, salads and meats.

We love our glaze because there isn't a lot of added sugar. We let the balsamic vinegar do all the heavy work in creating our sweet and savory glaze!

How to make Balsamic Glaze

Difficulty: Easy

What you are creating:

A delicious sweet and savory glaze for veggies and grilled dishes.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups balsamic vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Directions:

  1. Mix balsamic vinegar with brown sugar in a saucepan.

  2. Place pan over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar has dissolved.

  3. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low. Simmer until glaze is reduced by half, about 20 minutes.  If the glaze coats the back of a spoon, you are good to go.

  4. Let cool and pour into a jar with a lid.

  5. Store in refrigerator.

Makes approximately 1 cup glaze.

Variations:

Substitute 1 tablespoon Splenda brown sugar for the 2 tablespoons brown sugar.
